Wine Contests Abound
Last night my fortune cookie told me my enthusiastic leadership would earn me a promotion when I least expect it.
So maybe I will enter Twisted Oak’s back label contest, after all. I missed out on the rubber chickens last month and last year on the label contest for the white Rhone blend (%@#$!), my entry didn’t cut it:
Ask not how to pronounce it but how it will make you feel. The answer? Like you’re walking along the Rhône, a baguette in your hand, a bottle of wine in your satchel, and a lovely French lad (or lass) by your side. Later, you’ll exchange kisses that taste of apricots, peaches, and vanilla. Thinking you’re in heaven—the sun on your back, love in your eyes—until all that heavy cream from lunch causes you to slide down the river bank. Yelling %@#$! as you fall….
It’s now called Ruben’s Blend (after previously denied rubber chicken) and the deadline is March 18, right around the corner. Check out that link for more info and technical data.
Another contest looming on the horizon is for a new Wine Blogging Wednesday logo. This one ends March 31 and more details can be found at that link on the Wine Blogging Wednesday site. Other bloggers have offered up some good prizes, plus you get to be a part of something really special in the blogosphere!

Believe me, choosing a winner in a contest like this is really tough, and I almost can’t believe we are putting ourselves through it again. Last year it took four martinis to finally decide on a winner… You were in the top 3 - and I hope you’ll try again this year!

El Jefe,
I was just having my own little pity party. Seriously, though, I will enter.
