Wine Book Club to Begin
When Dr. Debs asked if I and fellow bloggers would be interested in a wine book club, I thought it a great idea. I don’t read nearly enough, especially when it comes to wine books. Deadlines are always good motivators for me, maybe because I sometimes miss the adrenaline rush of finishing a paper just in time or getting those chapters read right before class started. Truth be told, I’m still a bit of a procrastinator and often type the final words of my newspaper column in the final hour and get that Wine Blogging Wednesday wine the Tuesday before.
But I’m very excited to be a part of this new project. Instead of every month as with WBW, we’ll have a reading and round-up every other month. With extra time to find and read the material, this may help those of us who don’t hop on the assignment immediately. Though I believe the book I’ll choose this summer when I host will be one I’ve already read. Just to be safe….

Hey Farley
i am jazzed about the book club too. I have already started reading Vino Italiano and so far it is a fabulous read.
Cheers

John,
Yes, I had the book already and used it when I taught a staff training on Italian wines years ago, but I haven’t jumped back into it. I seem to remember there were a few recipes I wanted to try, so I’ll have to mark them this time.

Although I think I read all my brain could handle before going to Piedmont Italy this summer, I wish I had had this book prior to going.
cheers

I’ll pretend I didn’t read that. I’m dying to go to Italy but it doesn’t look too hopeful these days. Damn the dollar!
