What I’m Reading
Since it’s not yet time to talk about what I want to talk about, I’ll be doing some reading instead. After I get done with this post, I plan to pick up Vino Italiano and get further along for the Wine Book Club. And here’s what I found worth reading today so far…
From other Lifestyles Channel blogs:
I’ve been wondering what Chris at Brew Ha Ha thought about my beer pancakes if he saw that post. Over in his world of hops and barley, he gives us vacation tips, and boy could I use a getway like that.
Marye at Baking Delights made some brussel sprouts that even the toughest critic would love. I am coming around to these little guys and will have to give this one a go.
Lastly, when I was waiting tables during school at a Creole-inspired resturant in a town about an hour from New Orleans, you can bet we made a big deal out of Mardi Gras. It’s fun to see how Deborah gives advice for how to have a party with the theme that’s close to my heart.
From other wine bloggers:
I’m definitely in the mood to try this recipe for Saké Sangria from Richard of A Passionate Foodie. (And I thought I was the sangria guru…)
I would have liked to have been invited over to sample some of Amy’s roast chicken and portobella lasgna that she described at West Coast Wine Country Adventures, except I’m not much into watching football. But I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who likes a slightly oaky Chard when the meal calls for it, after some of those replies to my search for a good one.
It sounds like Andrea was having a week like mine when she wrote this post. While I totally feel her on hating to listen to phone messages and may also be prone to killing plants, I have no idea how she can’t love shoe shopping. Even though I now spend my money on other things (er, wine, anyone?), I still love it the rare times I do.
Cheers!

Thanks for the read. I think there is always room for a carefully oaked chard with the right foods.

Scamp,
Me, too, too much….
Amy and John,
I just need to see when it’s ok to talk. So far I don’t know that much more than you guys.
