The Anderson Valley Winners
I recently wrote about a couple of the wineries we visited on our trip to Anderson Valley and the Mendocino coast. I realized when looking through my journal and camera that I didn’t take enough notes and/or pictures to get a good discussion out of the other stops. So I will relay to you the favorites that we picked from the two-day excursion. The last two categories I made up just now, but I know BK would agree with me on the final one.
Best wine
Navarro and Roederer (BK & I agreed)
Best tasting room aesthetics
Scharffenberger (me) Handley (BK)
Best tasting experience
Lazy Creek & Yorkville (me) Scharffenberger (BK)
Most dangerous location
Pacific Star (on the edge of the cliff!)
Best thing eaten
a tie between the wasabi casear with polenta croutons at Mendo Bistro and the candy cap mushroom ice cream from Cowlick’s
