Monday Morning Reading Material
Continuing with last week’s trend, I’m going to share some interesting tidbits I’ve been reading recently, in case you haven’t seen them.
Lo and behold, John came out of hiding to write this interesting post with his usual southern flair over at Brim to the Dregs about the merits and sometimes hardships of drinking local wine. Glad to see him back, for however long we get him.
Another John (this one on my side of the country), The Cork Dork, recently posted a wrap-up of ZAP. Since I couldn’t attend, I’m glad he shared his info, after braving the throngs of Zin drinkers who sometimes plant themselves in your way or spill their wine on you, to let us know about his favorites. Of course, these included Rosenblum wines, along with some of my personal faves–such as Acorn, Robert Biale, Saddleback, and Mauritson– and some I’m still dying to try–such as Hendry and Tin Barn.
And because I’ve now started a trend, I may as well conclude the weekly wine reading with, you guessed, John: this one from Anything Wine. He’s a loyal reader, always has interesting and encouraging comments, and has told us about the connection between Atari and wine. Intrigued? There are tasting notes included, as well.
And from other blogs in the b5 network:
Heather, bless her heart, has provided a A Valentine’s Chocolate Fondue over at Chocolate Bytes that is certain to make someone fall in love with you… if they haven’t already. Oh, yum.
Linette from Mother Earth’s Garden posted about a great and beautiful movement: passion flowers made from recycled aluminum, often by artists with disabilities.
And Jennifer at Offbeat Homes found the most, er, interesting pink house…hard to believe that it’s real. Check it out for a bit of whimsy on a Monday morning.
Cheers!

Hey Farley
THanks for the shout out on this Monday. I am way behind on my reading for the day as it is 5:41 my time and I am just now sitting down to read my blog roll. That just isn’t right!!!
Cheers

John,
I’m always behind, it seems. Maybe my blog name should change to Behind the Times…

Glad you enjoyed the post, Farley. You’re one of those lucky devils who resides among the vines.
On an unrelated note, E and I opened a bottle of 2005 Rosenblum Richard Sauret Zin the other night and it absolutely blew us away. The best bottle of zin I’ve had in quite a while. Bravo.

John,
I’m not as close to the vines as I used to be.
If you liked the 05 Sauret, and I’m glad you did, you should enter my OTBN contest, where you can win the 06, which I think is even better, and the 06 Harris Kratka.
Cheers!
