Happy 4th! With Wine!

First, a note that Rosenblum Cellars in Alameda is closed today, on the 4th of July.

And because of that, we can enjoy bratwurst and potato salad, etc.  But what wine to have?  Well, if you’re doing anything with a BBQ sauce, you can’t find a happier companion than Zinfandel, especially if you have some Rosenblum on your shelf…or in the store, it’s not too late.  For hot dogs with spicy mustard, I’d go for a Syrah or French Rhone that contains the grape.  And for all the beforehand goodies like potato chips and dips, you can’t beat a bottle of bubbly.

But don’t drink too much if you’re driving and don’t set any fires. Have a happy and safe 4th!
