French Toast and…
If you’ve been here before, maybe you guessed Twisted Oak Petite Sirah. And if that’s the case, you’d be correct. Last summer I was worried I wouldn’t be able to have that little combo again (i.e. when my efforts to pick up a bottle in the Murphys tasting room were thwarted). So thank goodness for Wine Q, where I already checked to make sure I have another Twisted Petite in my queue. Just as my reply was a little late when Marshall sent out an inquiry for bloggers’ holiday wine suggestions, my holiday celebration was as well. But better late than never, and it was great to be able to share my special brunch with the fam. I got the French toast batter going and bacon in the oven while BK pulled out wine glasses and set the table. When everything was ready, I braved the cold to pick some mint from the window box I left behind two years ago.
Did everyone think I was crazy for the pairing?
Well, yes, but not once they tried it. The Petite still showed the vanilla, cream, and nutmeg it did when I first had it back in the day, all of which were in the French toast, gaining everyone’s seal of approval as a breakfast companion. And making up for the fact I didn’t make my eggnog this year….

That looks absolutely delicious! You even left the bacon chewy, which I love. I am absolutely going to have to make this SOON!
